This is a natural history spot-the-difference book looking at habitats from around the world. This is a non-fiction children’s picture book. As this was the second book of a pair, the habitats needed to show a good variety of climate, topography and vegetation, but not overlap 'Look!' too much. This was another lovely opportunity for me to draw a wide variety of animals and plants, as well as researching some fascinating natural history facts. The facing pages of each spread appear to be the same, but in fact there are twelve differences between them. The twelve locations were chosen for their colour and pattern potential, as I had to find ways of ‘hiding’ all these differences. Animals and plants with patterns, spots, and stripes were particularly useful for this. Given the choice I prefer to work on coloured paper when illustrating. This book was drawn on apple green paper using dip pens and brushes with Winsor & Newton ink. Following the 'best seller' success of 'Look!', 'Look Again!' also achieved remarkable success for a children's picture book, being translated into several languages and attaining sales well in excess of 100,000 copies.
